Goal: Create email templates that communicate Susan Wheeler Design's brand and encourage interest in the brand through email marketing
Software Used: Constant Contact
Experience: I started using Constant Contact for mass emails with Susan Wheeler Design almost immediately when I started this internship. One of our first concerns when working with this software was to make sure that the emails were mobile friendly. Constant Contact eventually came out with mobile friendly templates but I learned that I still had to make sure I had more text than image blocks or some email servers would automatically filter our emails as spam. The second concern I had when working with Constant Contact was formatting the email to our needs. In order to have the creative freedom I needed for these email, I edited the CSS code of the email to create whatever format we wanted. The average percentage of emails opened by the hundreds of people I was sending these out to was 29% while the industry average was 19%.
